Project Description

Project Brief

Using the examples shown in class as inspiration, decide on your own variation to express your true self. How do you find your true colours?

Select from ONE of the following methods to base your final work/portrait:

  • Recycled or found objects
  • Projection art
  • Wearable art (ie. Lady Gaga.. OR ALEXA MEADE)
  • Your choice (upon approval)

The final outcome MUST reflect your colour personality AND/OR coloured objects that reflect who you are and that match the hues and values of your favourite portrait.

Student Approach

The goal of this project was to use colour to express myself. Being inspired by Alexa Meade, an artist painting directly on objects and human bodies, I decided to paint on my body to show who I am. Blue represents me as an emotional, sensitive and trustful person and pink and red represent me as a positive, feminine and happy person. The concept and posing were chosen based on the theme of Happiness, Emotion and Youth.
